Fausia S. Abdul

Fausia S. Abdul began her career at 15 as a junior reporter in the Netherlands before moving into international roles. She has worked in media, communications, policy, and research for organizations across Amsterdam, Berlin, New York, and Vienna, always focused on social change and humanitarian causes.

An active volunteer, she has contributed to migration and education projects with the Dutch Council for Refugees, UNHCR, and others, driven by a belief in education as a path to empowerment.

Fausia holds multiple degrees in linguistics, law, religion, and peace and conflict from universities like Leiden and Uppsala. Currently, she works as a civil servant for the Dutch government while pursuing a part-time joint PhD in political science and theology. She also founded the project “Our HERitage,” which aims to challenge stereotypes about the colonial past and highlight the diversity of Caribbean women through history.
