Biography

As the Chair and Founder of Girls Education First Foundation (GEFF), Irmes leads the executive team and Board of Directors, shaping grant strategies, advocating for the foundation’s mission, and steering its strategic vision. Driven by a deep commitment to empowering girls through education, she collaborates with grantees and partner organizations to expand educational opportunities for disadvantaged girls and young women. Irmes also represents the foundation on national and international platforms, raising awareness and championing its initiatives.

Her passion for education was ignited through early volunteer work and personal experiences, inspiring her advocacy journey in 2011. Since then, she has contributed her expertise to organizations such as the Rotary International, the United Nations, and global NGOs, focusing on poverty alleviation, quality education, and public health.

With over 19 years of experience in public relations, marketing, media, and corporate communications, Irmes brings valuable insights to GEFF’s mission and strategy. As a former PR Coordinator for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), she helped craft and implement communication strategies for nonprofits addressing the UN’s 17 goals. She has also led global webinars and advised organizations on effective communication approaches, amplifying their impact worldwide.
